We want to warn folks about a scam currently circulating on Craigslist (and possibly Facebook Marketplace/other sites).
Our townhouse at Metz Ln has been fraudulently listed for rent by someone who is not us and does not have any right to rent or show the property.
The scammer appears to be using real photos and details of our home to collect deposits or personal info from unsuspecting renters.
Important:
We are not renting our townhouse.
We have not authorized any listings on Craigslist.
Anyone asking for a deposit, application fee, or to “secure the place” without showing the property is scamming you.
If someone claims to be “out of town” and asks for money before a tour, that’s a red flag 🚩
If you see a listing that looks like our place or have already been contacted about it, please:
Do not send money or personal info
Report the listing to Craigslist as a scam
Consider reporting to your local non-emergency police line if you’ve been financially impacted
We’re actively reporting the fraudulent listings and trying to get them taken down. Posting this so others don’t get burned.
