Antique desk chair, solid maple with leather seat. No tears, perfect condition, though the wood could be refinished (has been in storage many years). These are commonly called banker's chairs and are still popular today. This one came from the Colorado State Capitol, where it was used by Governor John D. Vanderhoof, who served as Speaker of the House, Lt. Governor, and Governor. He brought the chair with him to Grand Junction when he retired from office to serve as President of Club 20, and used it in that office for another decade. Bankers chairs are still made, though not in solid maple like the old ones. Vintage chairs normally bring $400-600, but this one is also historic. $250 or best offer.
