It is in excellent condition and is rated for up to 16 amps load. Model is a CB1120.
These devices protect electronic equipment such as Smart TV's, Computers and Printers, Digital Monitors and more, from electric power surges, spikes, stray harmonic frequencies caused by 'Dirty Power'. These Conditioners/Transformers will greatly extend the life of electronic equipment.
Dirty power results from activities that distort the 60 hertz AC wave form. The kinds of devices that create dirty power are high frequency devices such as computers, printers, TVs, Digital monitors, fluorescent lighting, and also electronic equipment used in areas where electric motors start/stop such as are found in elevators, air conditioners, and other equipment that starts and stops under heavy load. Welding in the neighborhood also really distorts the proper alternating current wave form.
This kind of altered power results in increased amperage in your equipment, which is harmful due to the excess amperage it creates and the resulting increase in heat on the equipment. Remember: watts = volts x amps. So if voltage drops frequently due to heavy loads nearby, amperage goes up, for a given wattage load. It is amperage that overheats electric/electronic equipment.
We found out the hard way years ago when we installed a new computer at work, and it did not perform correctly. During troubleshooting, we realized the mother board in the computer had been damaged by the harmonic 'noise' in our building's electrical distribution system. Plus we had a pretty big air conditioning motor on the roof, and welding going on in our industrial neighborhood. Trouble shooting this problem required an oscilloscope to see the distorted wave form. In our case, a big part of our problem came from older fluorescent lighting and the associated ballasts.
This particular Isolation Transformer was purchased years later, and used for our computers in a newer building for a few years before we sold the company.
Unit weight is about 55 lbs, due to the transformer iron core and copper windings.
Unit would sell new for about $1,200. We are asking $390, or best offer.
