Offering this antique, genuine bronze temple incense burner with a Foo Dog finial on the top and archaic beast handles on the sides. This type of cloisonne work is called champleve, the earliest form of enamel work. It's fired in separate cells depressed or incised in the background material. In this one, the background is finely engraved with square cloud spirals. No greening anywhere, the reddish yellow shows at the pick up points and it's signed on the bottom, but I have never been able to read it. It's 21 inches tall by 13 inches wide at the handles, perfect for dramatic decor, even as a Buddhist temple piece. The champleve is in very good condition; the colors show natural age. Cash only, pick up in NE Bend.
